YouTube’s New Rollouts: Improved Studio Uploads, More Gift Memberships, and Live Product Tagging

YouTube has introduced several significant updates to its Studio mobile app and content management features, aimed at enhancing the experience for creators and viewers. Here is what’s new:

  • Mobile Uploads in YouTube Studio App: it makes content management and video uploads more accessible for creators directly from their mobile devices. This new feature allows users to upload videos from their device camera roll by simply tapping the + icon in the Studio app. Additionally, creators can now set video monetization status during the upload process, streamlining content management. This update is especially beneficial for Shorts creators, offering more tools for managing vertical format videos instantly.
  • Community Posts Feed: In a move to enhance social interaction, YouTube is testing a new Community Posts feed in the mobile app, focusing on its social media aspect. This feature, available to all channels since last May, lets creators share text updates, making the app more engaging.
  • Affiliate Product Tagging in Live Streams: YouTube is expanding its affiliate product tagging for live creators in the YouTube shopping affiliate program. This allows for real-time product tagging in live streams, offering direct shopping links to viewers, a step towards integrating live-stream shopping, a trend already popular in Asian markets.

To support channel growth, YouTube has increased the number of free channel memberships creators can give away during live streams from 5 to 10 per month. This initiative aims to boost audience engagement and retention.

These updates are designed to enhance the YouTube experience for creators and viewers alike, making content creation, management, and interaction more seamless and engaging.
