YouTube has been facing a constant battle against ad blockers. In an effort to support their creators and maintain revenue streams, YouTube has implemented load delays for users detected to be using ad blockers. This move aims to discourage users from blocking ads and to encourage them to support the diverse ecosystem of creators on the platform.

Initially, users were cut off entirely when an ad blocker was detected. Now, YouTube has taken another step by implementing load delays for users with ad blockers enabled. Android Authority reported that users have experienced delays of up to five seconds or more, which have been confirmed by YouTube itself.
According to YouTube, the primary goal is to encourage viewers to allow ads or consider YouTube Premium for an ad-free experience. Regardless of the browser being used, users with ad blockers installed may experience suboptimal viewing due to these load delays.
These load delays will only affect users accessing YouTube via the web version and not those using the mobile app.
While the majority of YouTube access occurs through youtube.com rather than the mobile app, the impact of these load delays could be significant in relation to ad blocker usage.
