New YouTube Discovery Ad Feature: Expanded CTAs Are Rolling Out

YouTube is quietly testing a new feature in its Discovery Feed ads—and it could boost engagement for advertisers.

Some users are now seeing expanded call-to-action (CTA) buttons—like “Watch” and “Visit Site”—on certain YouTube Discovery ads. These buttons don’t appear right away. Instead, they pop up after two types of interaction:

  1. When users interact with the product images displayed below the ad.

  2. After watching the video preview for about 3–5 seconds.

Anthony Higman published this update that could encourage more clicks and deeper user engagement, especially for brands using product carousels or compelling video intros.
