Google is changing how people search for information, moving beyond traditional text-based queries to include voice and visual searches. At Google Marketing Live, new AI-powered tools were introduced to help businesses better connect with their audiences. Here’s a look at the key updates.
1. Ads in AI overviews: Seamless shopping in search
AI Overviews in Google Search give users quick answers and relevant product suggestions. Now, Google is integrating ads directly into these AI-generated overviews. For example, if someone searches for how to remove grass stains, relevant shopping ads for stain removers will appear right in the overview. This feature is already live for U.S. mobile users, making it easier for businesses to connect with potential customers when they’re ready to buy.
2. Shopping ads in Google lens: Search What You See
Google Lens is handling around 20 billion visual searches per month, with 20% of them being shopping-related. Soon, shopping ads will appear alongside visual search results, allowing users to learn more about products they see in real life. By simply snapping a photo with Lens, users can discover product details like reviews, prices, and where to buy.
If you’re already running AI-powered Search ads, Shopping campaigns, or Performance Max campaigns, your ads will automatically show in these new experiences—no extra steps needed. These tools allow you to reach customers in more dynamic ways, right when they’re most interested in your products.
