Microsoft Advertising has implemented a new email notification cadence to ensure that advertisers are promptly notified when their ads or ad components are rejected. Advertisers will now receive more frequent email alerts with the subject line “Notice of Violation of Policy – Ad or Ad Component” within 24 hours of disapproval.
The email notifications provide valuable insights into the specific accounts within a Manager Customer Account that have experienced rejections. For product offers, the email also covers any technical errors preventing the offers from being served. To access the rejected content, recipients can simply click on the provided Microsoft Advertising Campaign link within the email, which will redirect them to the campaign UI.

Understanding rejected content and taking action
Upon accessing the campaign UI, advertisers can navigate to the relevant account(s) to gain a deeper understanding of the disapprovals. The UI provides specific details on the reasons for the content rejections, allowing advertisers to take appropriate action.
If advertisers choose to leave disallowed content unchanged, no further action is required. However, for those who wish to have the content reconsidered for approval, it is essential to make the necessary edits to comply with the policies and request an appeal.
Common policy violations highlighted
Microsoft Advertising’s tighter policies aim to decrease policy violations while ensuring a safer and more transparent advertising environment. Some common policy violations include misleading product claims, inappropriate content, counterfeit goods, and promotions related to gambling or alcohol. While these stricter policies may limit certain advertising opportunities, they play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of the platform.
To promote transparency, Microsoft Advertising recently rolled out new policies and updates to existing policies. These changes are outlined on the Microsoft Advertising Policies page, where advertisers can familiarize themselves with the guidelines and ensure compliance.
