Meta has introduced Facebook Content Monetization beta, a new program designed to expand earning opportunities for creators by merging three existing monetization programs — In-stream ads, Ads on Reels, and the Performance Bonus. Now, creators can earn from a variety of content formats including Reels, longer videos, photos, and text posts.
Facebook Content Monetization uses the same performance-based payout model that powers Ads on Reels and In-stream Ads. Creators’ earnings will continue to be based on the performance of their eligible content, but now they have the opportunity to earn from more formats.
Facebook is inviting around one million creators already monetizing on the platform to join the beta over the coming months. While full enrollment won’t start until 2025, creators can express interest in early access through Facebook for Creators.
Since 2017, over four million creators have earned money on Facebook, with more than $2 billion paid out in the past year alone. However, many creators were limited to certain formats due to complex eligibility requirements. The new program simplifies this by allowing creators to monetize multiple content types through a single system and track their performance in one place.
