Google’s Updated Ad Policies for Children and Teens

In January 2025, Google will streamline its ad policies for children and teens, consolidating key protections into the Child and Adolescent Protections Policy Center for Ads. These updates aim to simplify navigation for advertisers while keeping all enforcement practices unchanged.

Key policies in the new center:

  • Ads and content created for children: Ensures ads targeted at children meet strict standards.
  • Child protection when posting ads: Provides guidelines for safe ad design and deployment.
  • Protections for teens when posting ads: Safeguards teens from invasive advertising.
  • Advertising on YouTube Kids: Maintains a child-safe advertising environment.
  • Default ad handling: Details automatic protections for younger audiences.
