Google Ads is currently experiencing a major outage that has impacted several key reporting tools and product management features. Advertisers worldwide are feeling the effects as the outage has affected the Report Editor, Dashboards, and Saved Reports in the web interface. Additionally, the Products, Product Groups, and Listing Groups pages across the web, API, and Google Ads Editor have also been disrupted.
The gravity of the situation was highlighted by Adriaan Dekker, who shared a screenshot showcasing the issues.
Serious data breach
Compounding the outage, a serious data breach has occurred. Unrelated item IDs, product titles, and Merchant Centre information have become visible in incorrect accounts, leading to substantial privacy concerns. The breach was first reported by Ingvar Kraatz on LinkedIn between July 30-31, 2024, revealing that advertisers could see sensitive information belonging to their competitors within their accounts.
Despite ongoing efforts, the issue has not been fully resolved. For accounts that were not affected by this issue, all reporting services have been restored. However, for those impacted, Google is still working to restore reporting services for the Report Editor and the Products tab.
Advertisers are advised to stay updated on the situation and take necessary precautions to safeguard their data.
Stay tuned for more updates as the situation develops.
