Google unveiled version 16.1 of the Google Ads API yesterday, introducing a range of enhancements aimed at empowering advertisers. Among the key updates are the integration of query assets tailored for Demand Generation, expanded location service details, enhanced support warnings, and the introduction of Target ROAS bid simulation.

This release marks a notable iteration following the previous update, Version 16, rolled out in February 2024. Prior to that, Version 15 debuted in October 2023, followed by Version 14.1 in August of the same year. Preceding the current version, Version 13.1 was introduced in April 2023. The API journey also includes Version 12.0, launched in October 2022, and Version 11.0 and 11.1, released respectively in June and August of that year. Moreover, Version 10.1 made its debut on April 27, 2022, closely followed by Version 10.0 on February 9, 2022.

In tandem with these advancements, Google announced the sunset of the AdWords API on April 27th, signaling its complete discontinuation by the end of July.
