Google Ads API Renames Shake Up 2025 Release Schedule

Google just restructured its 2025 Ads API roadmap — and if you use custom workflows, scripts, or automations, this matters.

🧩 What changed:

  • v20_1 → now a major release called v21

  • Original v21 → becomes v22

  • Two new minor updates incoming: v19_2 and v20_1

📅 Release window stays the same: June to November 2025.

Why this matters

If your campaigns depend on automated reporting, bidding scripts, or platform integrations, version-specific logic might break. Tools built on the previous naming structure need a quick review — especially if you’re running custom workflows across YouTube, Demand Gen, or PMax.

What to do now:

  • ✅ Flag any dev-side dependencies tied to v20/v21

  • ✅ Communicate with your tech team before rollout begins

  • ✅ Future-proof: update scripts to handle version bumps smoothly

This shift signals Google wants to ship features faster without waiting for full version releases — and advertisers should be ready to adapt quicker, too.
