Google Ads Adds Video View Campaign Forecasts to Reach Planner

Google Ads has a new feature in its Reach planner that allows advertisers to forecast the performance of their Video View Campaigns. This exciting update provides advertisers with valuable insights and helps them plan their ad campaigns more effectively.

To get a forecast for your Video View Campaigns using the Reach planner, follow these simple steps:

  1. Select the desired time frame for which you want to get a forecast,
  2. Based on your targeting (depending on the nature of the offer), select demographic targeting,
  3. Under sublocation, select specific countries if you are doing DMA targeting, if not, leave this field blank.
  4. Set budget.
  5. Select a specific audience (if you want to see a forecast for a specific audience), or you can see the forecast for the Demo,
  6. You can see the forecast for specific devices if that’s something that is useful to you,
  7. Select ad type (in this case, Video view campaign) and click on View Forecast.

In the Metrics panel, the forecasts vary based on your selections. Additionally, these projections change in response to your budget settings. For budget adjustments, use the top right-corner option. As you modify the budget, the forecast updates accordingly to reflect the new budget parameters.

About Reach Planner

Google Ads calculates unique reach by using statistical models that consider user activity across multiple browsers and devices. These models are created by observing aggregated user behavior across Google products to determine cross-device usage patterns.

You can use Reach Planner to:

  1. Plan the performance and spend of your new ad campaigns across YouTube and Google video partners. You can let Reach Planner choose ad formats and budget allocations for you or create a custom media plan.
  2. Create and compare the effectiveness of different mixes of campaign types.
  3. Read detailed reach, demographic, and device insights for your selected media plan. Reach Planner provides detailed line items for each ad format included in your media plan. You can quickly adjust the settings for each ad format (such as the budget, location, targeting, and more) and generate a new forecast for your media plan.
  4. Forecasts are available for Reach, Frequency, Views, Conversions, and Impressions-based metrics.


It helps users accurately create media plans centered around Unique Reach, Views, and Conversions.
