- Display remarketing and custom audiences: Utilizing the Protected Audience API (formerly known as FLEDGE).
- Attribution reporting: Integrating with the Attribution Reporting API for enhanced measurement.
Understanding the Privacy Sandbox
The Privacy Sandbox is an initiative by Google aiming to develop new technologies that balance online privacy for users with the needs of businesses. It has two main goals:
- Phasing out third-party cookies: These cookies track users across the web, raising privacy concerns.
- Limiting covert tracking methods: Reducing hidden techniques used to collect user data.
Key points about the Privacy Sandbox ongoing development are:
- New features and technologies are continually proposed and tested.
- Web and Android focus: Proposals include changes to both browsing and app environments.
- Open-source collaboration: Google collaborates with other companies and developers to create new standards.
By integrating these new APIs, GA4 aims to provide businesses with effective measurement tools while enhancing user privacy.
